Indie film, In the Morning, is poetic, yet raw. Written, produced and directed by WhitPR client, Nefertite Nguvu, the film portrays the essence of modern day life, love and relationships. The storytelling is art depicting life as it follows a group inter-connected New Yorkers throughout the course of a day. In just an hour, I was taken on an emotional journey (to some places I've been before myself) and to others that were still oh so relatable.
Nefertite Nguvu, a graduate of NYC's School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Film, was able to capture and articulate feelings and thoughts through words and images that I've struggled with expressing for years. It's no wonder this film has already earned awards and recognition across the globe. The film debuted at the Urban World Film Festival in New York City and won the Audience Award for Best Feature Film. It also won the award for Best International Film at the Terra Di Siena Film Festival in Italy, Best Narrative Feature at the BlackStar Film Festival in Philadelphia, and Best Feature Film and Best Overall at the Bronzelens Film Festival in Atlanta.
